I’m not a pro, but these feel too light for me (7a and 5a). It’d be nice if they were varnished too — i think that would help with grip.

They seem good to me, well-made. I've only used them a little and only on a Roland pad. The only flaw (but for some it can be an advantage) is that they are very very light, even though they don't seem too fragile.
